Donald Trump has announced that he is looking into Osama Bin Laden’s death certificate. In a statement released earlier today he said “Look, what has been released is not sufficient to even get a funeral procession. Long form death certificate is required in most states as the official document that you are dead”. Monday morning the White House released a statement of Osama’s death along with pictures and video of his lifeless body lying in a pool of blood with multiple entry wounds to the head and chest.

When question about the significance of the evidence released by the White House, Trump said, “Hey without the long form death certificate it doesn’t matter how many holes to the head you have, without a death certificate you are not dead.” Later adding, “Hey, I want to believe Osama Bin Laden is dead, we have more important issues to discuss in this country like the Miss USA pagent and the upcoming Celebrity Apprentice episode. But what is this President trying to hide and why is he not releasing Osama’s death certificate.”

When asked about his investigation, Trump said, “I have my guys looking into it. They are on the ground and are collecting some very damning information”. When pushed for specifics he just said, “I will let America know our findings and whether Osama Bin Laden is dead or alive Sunday night 9pm EST / 8pm CST on NBC.”

A member of the Navy SEAL Team Six responded to the accusation of Osama’s demise, stating, “We were pretty sure he was dead after unloading a 30 round clip into his body but since I haven’t seen his death certificate I’m not sure now. I will definitely be watching the Apprentice on Sunday night to find out.”

For those of us who prefer the additional power that VMware Workstation offers over VMware Server, it is frustrating that there is no option to automatically start the VM(s) at boot time.

This simple batch script can be created and saved to the Startup directory to accomplish the task. Please note that your PC must be setup for your ID to auto-login if you want the VM to start automatically after a power outage, for example.
This has been tested using VMware Workstation 6.5 and 7.0 on Windows Vista 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit (as shown). In this example VMware Workstation is installed to “C:\Program Files (x86)”, the VM is located in C:\Virtual_Machines, and the vmx file is what you need to look for.

Just open up Notepad or your favorite text editor, copy and paste the text below, modify it to fit your environment, and save it. You can then either drag and drop it into your Startup folder (Start -> All Programs -> Startup) or create a shortcut and copy that over.

The taskkill command can be used to automatically close the GUI window that opens. Add this line to the bottom of your batch file if you don’t want to close the GUI manually every time you reboot:

taskkill /IM vmware.exe

Update based on comments:

• The name of the batch file does not matter. You can call it anything but be sure that the extension is .bat
• Make sure that the command is on one line. (The article originally rendered the vmrun.exe command so that it appeared to be on two lines…I fixed it on 6/29/2011)

I recently bought a Logitech G110 for my gaming rig. It’s a lovely keyboard but I was immediately irritated by the fact that it would only control iTunes playback with the multimedia keys if the iTunes window was in the foreground. I scoured the internets for a solution and found a plugin dll for iTunes that solves the problem.

Download mmkeys.dll and then copy it to this location:

• Windows Vista and Windows 7 require the file to be in your user profile directory:
  %APPDATA%\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunes Plug-ins (copy and paste this line into a Windows Explorer address bar to get there)
• Windows XP uses a more logical location: C:\Program Files\iTunes\Plug-ins

FYI – %APPDATA % is a Windows variable that points to “C:/Users/<your_ID>/AppData/Roaming”. I used the variable because it will work for everyone, regardless of the letter or your hard drive or your username.

A bit of genius marketing from a least expected source…”The left”. A little confusing to me at first as to why they would do this.. but as you can read below… looks like he isn’t far left enough for them. Which is amazing because he is showing he is about as liberal as Presidents can get.
